Beyond
College
Get a head start on the future.
At EBCAO, our Postgraduate Pathways Initiatives include PhD pipeline and career development cohort programs that give students opportunities to learn about, and gain experience in, various future pathways. Our fellowship and internship programs serve undergraduates at Princeton and other New Jersey colleges and universities, as well as Princeton alumni and alumni of all of EBCAO’s programs.
Who are you?
Who do you want to be?
At EBCAO, we are dedicated to being there with you as you contemplate–and move through–the transition from college to your life after undergrad. We offer programs, resources, and empathetic support as you connect with your values, make a purpose-driven path through college, design your future, and tell your story.
Programs To Take You Beyond College
Through the ASAP program, I developed my public speaking skills. Thanks to Dr. O, I was given another outlook on how to approach and perfect my presentations and determine which methods of preparation best suit me. With the guidance of other ASAP scholars, I learned how to give, receive, and apply feedback. The ASAP program also allowed me to solidify my interest in research. Given the online format of the program, I improved my time management skills. I received the tools to create a timeline for my research, which also included room for personal projects, spending time with family, and self care.
Postgraduate Pathways Summer Institute End-of-Summer Picnic
Students in the Aspiring Scholars and Professionals (ASAP) and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) programs celebrated the end of the Postgraduate Pathways Summer Institute (PPSI) on Friday, August 5, 2022. The Institute brought together undergraduates from Atlantic Cape Community College, Bloomfield College, Princeton University, Rutgers–Camden, Rutgers–Newark, and The College of New Jersey. Mellon Fellows and ASAP Interns participated in a nine-week experience that included professional development programming, research methods workshops, career conversations, community-building activities, and a Summer Symposium at which students gave oral presentations of their work. The picnic marked the end of the PPSI’s very first residential summer at Princeton.

The fundamental objective of MMUF is to address, over time, the problem of underrepresentation in the academy at the level of college and university faculties. This goal can be achieved both by increasing the number of students from underrepresented minority groups (URM) who pursue PhDs and by supporting the pursuit of PhDs by students who may not come from traditional minority groups but have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to the goals of MMUF. The MMUF program is designed to encourage fellows to enter PhD programs that prepare students for professorial careers.
